Biography
Dimitris Giantsis is the General Director of Directorate General of Projects, of Information Society SA. His main responsibilities are coordination, guidance and supervision of the three Directorates and 2 Units of Directorate General. In his previous position was the Director of ICT Infrastructure & Services Directorate, of Information Society, being responsible for some of the most important projects of the public sector, such as Rural Broadband, Government Cloud (G-Cloud) and SYZEFXIS II.
He is an experienced professional (20 years) in the fields of ICT, Telecommunications, Information Society and Project Management, in both private and public sector entities, having managed complicated ICT projects as well as Public – Private Partnership (PPP) projects. He used to serve as General Manager to Observatory for Digital Greece. His career started as Telecommunications Engineer in Wind Hellas.
He holds an MSc in Mobile, Personal and Satellite Communications of Westminster University, as well as an M.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Technology of Patra’s University. Finally, he’s a Certified Project Management Professional (PMPR ) since 2008.
